Digital Roles in the Cultural Sector
A growing inventory for benchmarking salaries and drawing up job descriptions
As part of our work supporting organisational and digital development, we have done lots of thinking around capacity planning.
This includes a study benchmarking digital capacity across a range of national museums in order to understand different models for positioning, structuring and resourcing.
We often get asked to advise on provision of digital teams within organisations and for help with planning and budgeting in this area.
This encompasses support with defining roles and as a result we’ve got in the habit of retaining oversight of the range of digital positions being created within the cultural sector in the UK.
As a by-product of our work we’ve developed a simple app to present a record of past jobs advertised. Rather than keeping this to ourselves, we’ve decided to share it to assist with benchmarking similar roles.
